My daily routine

When coming to my daily morning routine, I follow the same easy steps every day like it's a ritual.
Because actually it is. Or it has to be.
Coffee is my number one. Tidy space is my second.
And then, everything has to do with my skincare routine.

I admit that I belong in the category of the "lazy" girls. But I don't belong (anymore) in the category that thinks that staying young and beautiful is an easy-dizzy task. Talking about categories, I used to be one of the lucky teenagers who had no idea what acne and skin-problems were. Then I grew up, I found out that I was fan of coffee, alcohol and late night outs and I may preferred these little bad habits over a healthy skin.
I started realizing that I had to take care of my face when the only people who tell you the truth (see. besties) started mentioning how tired and dull my skin looked like. And somehow having a clean skin become my obsession.
I wanted - and I still do - a flawless skin so I looked into it, read a lot about it, tried many products and ended up following some simple (but necessary) steps.

1. WASHING MY FACE with or without detergent. I use cold water which tightens my pores. If you have a dry skin NEVER use warm water as it dehydrates the skin. TIP: Don't rub your face on the towel, just wipe it gently. And always but always use a clean towel!
I used many different products but my favourite are Clinique Facial Soap, and (believe it or not) Nivea Cleansing Mousse

2. MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER or a toner is one of my secrets. With a cotton pad I apply it to my face to be sure that any dirt, oil or makeup are away. I keep it in the fridge so that it wakes up my skin after using it.

3. EXFOLIATE is a step that I follow just 2-3 times a week. Exfoliation is really important when talking about healthy skin. Dead cells go away and new ones take their place. At the same time collagen is increased and acne or spots risk is minimized. Plus it leaves a fresh and smooth feeling on our skin.
I am currently addicted to ONSEN Facial peel and I highly recommend it. Other choices are La mer Refining facial and for some not that expensive choices I am also a fanatic of Neutrogena peelings and scrubs which by the way smell amazing! If you are going to try one of them, Neutrogena Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub is the one I recommend.

4. SERUM or MOISTURIZER. This is the most essential step. Moisturizing cream keeps my skin hydrated all day. Never forget that step if you want a skin that not brakes down. 
Because of some pigments on my face I choose a moisturizer with Retinol. Lancome Visionnaire Advanced Multi-Correcting Cream is a super choice but pricy so my alternative is Avene RetrinAL 0.1 Intensive Cream. Other moisturizers without Retinol are Clinique Dramatically Different such as Nivea, Garnier or L'oreal.
Serum is a product I started using just some months ago and it's a great alternative to cream or oil based hydrators. I apply 1 or 2 drops of Serum and I massage my face for a minute. Favourite product? Aesop Parsley Seed Anti-Oxidant Serum.

5. EYE CREAM is a underestimate product that most girls in my age don't use. As I have the genes for black circles and puffy eyes I have to use the eye cream every day. Besides, the skin around the eyes is thinner than the rest of our face so it's essential to hydrate the skin under the eyes to keep it healthy and prevent the wrinkles.

6.SUNSCREEN PROTECTION is one of the most important steps of my daily ritual. And "I got it from my momma". I always thought that I didn't need protection during the winter days when sun was not burning enough to feel it. My mum explained to me that radiation could get into my skin even in cloudy days. Some years later I found out everything in the medical school about UV radiations and I was glad that I was already used to sun cream from young age.I apply Avene SPF30 Emulsion since I was a little girl so I haven't really tried any other product. 

And that's it. Now I am ready to start my day and also put my makeup on. 
Ps. It's all about hydration, so don't forget to drink a LOT of water :)
